Singers' Heath

Singers’ Heath

Why do you wander the earth alone?
What sin is it you seek to atone?
Your soul is contorted and ever afflicted,
Of what crime is it that you’ve been self-convicted?

Why the deepening pain in your eyes?
What sadness is it you seek to hide?
Your heart is thwarted and ever twisted,
By what word is it that you’ve been blacklisted?

Why the shackles upon your smile?
What sorrow is it you seek to beguile?
Your mind is bleak and woebegone,
From whence the dejection that you’ve undergone?

Wander alone no more my friend,
This atonement with peace your soul will mend.
Your crime is one that broke no laws,
Your self-affliction has no real cause.

Let me take the pain that your iris hides,
To allow comfort return in leaps and strides.
Let’s liberate your heart once more,
And welcome home joy through love’s front door.

Let’s renew the light that should spring from your face,
Instead of sorrow you’ll now feel ace.
Your mind will be free and happy and bright,
Take my hand, and return to the light.

Oh, child of mine!

Oh, child of mine!

I do not wash clean clothes
And I don’t care what you say,
Pick the damned things off the floor
And put them all away!

Gravy and peas are not breakfast
And I don’t care what you say,
Eat that flaming toast right now,
Or you won’t go out to play!

Your finger is not a toothbrush
And I don’t care what you say,
Now brush your bloody teeth,
And scrub that plaque away!

You fecking do eat chicken
And I don’t care what you say,
Stop pushing it around the plate,
You’re eating it today!

The sink is not a toy
And I don’t care what you say,
Stop pouring shampoo down the drain,
You’ll block it up one day!

Bedtime was always eight
And I don’t care what you say,
Get your bloody PJ’s on,
It’s time to hit the hay!

The landing isn’t bed
And I don’t care what you say,
Calling me while standing there,
Is making me go grey!

Nightmares aren’t always bad
And I don’t care what you say,
You still run in for the safest snug,
Long may you stay that way!

Blue Moon

Blue Moon
The Blue Moon in silence swiftly weeps past
Lending to life one final last gasp
Pulling from anguish she gives up a sigh
And lays on the cloud hoping to die.

Singing a song that can never be heard
Bleeding a heartache that can never be shared
Longing for love that will eternally evade
She hides in her paradise of perpetual shade.

The Blue Moon in silence swiftly weeps past
Wishing forever to be white at last
Hoping perpetually she prays to the skies
Knowing all answers  are unceasing lies.

Lamenting a fate that can never be hers
Scarring her soul with infinite tears
Pleading with ghosts that will never admit
She’s left in shadows as nature’s misfit.
